Castle Beerstein (A D&D Side Campaign)

2026-04-08: Bone Cats

Scribble Sprocketly (Scott's gnome artificer 1), Oliver Quips (Rob's dragonborn sorcerer 1), and Tarric Swiftstride (NPC hobbit ranger 1) leave their lodgings at The Falling Trout to investigate the ancient hillfort ruin overlooking town. They descend narrow, crumbling, moss-covered stone steps into an underground comples. The trio knock apart a skeletal knight and his skeletal warhorse, which guarded an undisturbed tomb filled with loot. While dragging their weighty treasure chest through the dungeon, however, a hundred animated skeletal cats attack the party, forcing our heroes to drop their treasure and run for their lives.

• Statue at tomb entrance: a hairy boar-headed humanoid sits with a huge club resting on his knees. He sits on the back of a nude human man.
• The doors to the inner tomb were inscribed with a boar head wearing the crown of a third prince. The symbol also appeared on the silver coins inside the tomb.
• Abandoned treasure: large chest with thousand of silver coins, silver short swords, two curvy silver dagger, a floor-standing silver brazier

2026-03-28: Someone Comes to Town

Dane (Dum Sum, aarakocra monk 1) and Scott (Scribble Sprocketly (gnome artificer 1) arrive in the town of Rock Bottom. They have a treasure map marking a location in the ruins of an ancient hillfort overlooking the town. The duo hire Tarric Swiftstride (hobbit ranger 1) to accompany them on their upcoming expedition, then spend the night at The Falling Trout ("god house beer") rather than The Phoenician Nosferatu ("infected by vampires").

• Character background: Cribble built Dim Sum's birdhouse.
• The clock in the town square has a mechanical little vampire that comes out every half hour to flare its cape, bat-like.
• In The Falling Trout, two burly local farm lads watched kept glancing surreptitiously at the adventurers and muttering darkly.
• Old Crone Hallowhobby comes to Rock Bottom on Wednesdays. She sells potions and poultices.
