Ed DM'ing.
Me, Scott, Steve, Bas.
Last time (August 5!) we found a stela behind a waterfall.
Zoozeki, having taken a rubbing from the stella, now has a scroll of _Mind Transference_.
(Excellent!)
Zoozeki carefully secures the scroll in his scroll case.
Also, we apparently heard a "bellowing and flapping" from up the mountain.
----
It's about 11 AM.
From where we are near the waterfall:
a path to the west leads to the sculpture garden,
a path north up the mountain (up a rough climb),
a path south down the mountain,
and a path east where we haven't been before.
Smudge sends his owl familiar aloft to check out the bellowing and flapping.
The owl sees a white winged reptilian shape flapping through the air on reptilian wings.
It has four legs [a dragon, not a wyvern].
The owl also saw, to the west, a couple interesting locations:
on a path from the statue garden a couple guys messing around with Conestoga wagons,
and some a construction crew building meta frames north of the wagon train people on the west of the mountain.
How old is the dragon.
Smudge describes it.
Zoozeki, based on the description, believes (based on its "wisdom horns") that this an ancient white dragon.
We backtrack down the mountain a bit to ask the golemologists about the dragon.
Ogalock the Wise and Meflewon the Green.
They say that sometimes he does a lap or two, but he hasn't attacked them.
The golemoligists actually plan to use their golems as mussel to get them through the tunnels to the other side of the mountain.
In the course of discussion, it turns out they're trying to reach an ancient civilization on the other side of the mountain and that civilization is the giant ape civilization!
We offer to introduce them to Ootherion.
I ask Ed if there's anything Zoozeki could do to eventually take control of one or both golems.
Answer: if Zoozeki put a piece of himself (hair, nail clippings) in a golems, he would have a small chance of resting control of it away from its creator.
We ask the golemologists about the covered wagon guys.
They say those guys are crazy pilgrims.
While we wait for the golemologists to finish their golems, we check out the covered wagon pilgrims.
There are three wagons.
Four men, women, and children per wagon.
Zoozeki tries to sell them dragon repellent.
But they're not interested.
Instead, they threaten to rob Zoozeki of his opium.
Kristabell draws Rayhault, and gives a speech about how doomed they are and that they should go back down the mountain.
They get discouraged and head down the mountain.
We wait for the golemologists to finish their golems, then go with them into the mountain.
Zoozeki changes out his familiar for a bat.
We go back to where we killed the bugbears last session.
In a big cave below our ledge are a bunch of giant mushrooms.
Zoozeki and Bas's necromancer (Xeneon?) both believe the mushrooms are of a very springy type (Super Mario Bros).
Kristabell tries to jump on and spring off one to the opposite ledge.
She does, bouncing one the mushroom to the ground.
Smudge springs to the opposite ledge (Acrobatics roll: 30).
We find old bones on a high ledge.
Xenon animates them.
They're the BONES OF A HERO.
Also, some silver and gold jewelry.
We take them.
We catch up with the golemologists.
They're booking, though, and even split apart.
Zoozeki and smudge follow one golem, Xenon and Kristabell follow the other.
We kill a bunch of bandits in a cave.
Several surrendered.
