D&D on Jitsi with Ed, Scott, Steve, … ======================================== Fri 12 Nov 2021 04:05:18 PM EST Ed DM'ing 5e for me, Scott, Steven, Josh (new — Magdalena's friend's husband). (Ed's using a new document camera that looks really good.) Josh is playing a hobbit druid named Brainbad (or Vad?). Resuming in the tomb from last week, at the bottom of the stairs, the stairs up now blocked by hundreds of mud guys. At the foot of the stairs, we open a door north. Past the door, a spiral staircase leads down. A four-foot-square stone (all the wall stones on this level are monolithic four-foot stones) on the east wall is wiggling. Xenon sends his familiar snake down the spiral stairs. At the bottom of the spiral stairs is another set of (non-spiral) stairs. Zoozeki taps on wiggling stone with Mage Hand, and it responds with knocks back. Xenon sends his skeleton to run at the block. The skeleton runs right through, frightening a gnome on the other side. We deescalate. Zoozeki apologizes, and gets the gnome to tell him how to make the stone-looking jello barrier. We part on good terms with the gnome. We go down the spiral stairs, then down another set of stairs. We find what might be bath house, with two pools, a cart with towels, and a red dragon mosaic on the floor. It's immaculate. Down another set of stairs: a room with cleaning supplies and neatly arranged large rocks (for heating water?). The cleaning room loops around to connect to the room behind the double-doors in the bath. A huge red humanoid sits on a throne, being fanned by regular-size guys in loin cloths. We leave the scary guy on a throne alone for a moment, and go around the other way, through the single door in the bath room. A shaft plunges down. Spikes at the bottom. Josh/Vad spider climbs down the shaft, and runs into some kind of psychic troll. Tacyon Troll. It lives backwards through time. Kristabell and Smudge gain a point of Wisdom by killing/healing it. We find jars full of blood and teeth that were collected from the bottom of the spike pit. Xenon animates the material into a blood (and teeth) golem, about two feet tall! Door to the west, opposite blood jar room: a life-size silver statue of an athlete wearing a loin cloth and laurel wreath. Zoozeki casts detect magic on the statue; it's magic (transmutation). Smudge examines the dense text covering all six sides of the base; one side in Common, another in Elvish. Text tells life story of Ansome Sweeny, who conquered athletics of high jump, javelin, etc. Kristabell puts her hands in the statues, and regains psy points. Xenon has his skeleton put its hands on the statue's, and the skeleton explodes, spraying shrapnel everywhere. Zoozeki takes six damage. We go back to the central room with the guy on the throne. Zoozeki and Smudge approach from the east/stairwell. Zoozeki casts _Detect Thoughts_. The others approach from another door, the double door at room five. Xenon knocks on back door. Zoozeki knows Ignin, language of the elemental plane of fire. Xenon asks fire guy about the mosaic. He seems agreeable to talk about the mosaic, and invites them in. He has his slaves bring chairs for them. Kristabell talks to him. The mural reminds him of Glenallen Mixin, a famous dragon, who conquered this land, and ruled for many years. Kristabell and him talk about killing frost giants, and how much frost giants suck. The statue of Ansome Sweeny recharges magic things (spell slots). He invites us to dinner, and kills one of his slaves to be cooked.
